Last week, HMA took part in a personal branding workshop, held by Keith Evans, Managing Director at CidaCo. The workshop explored how to create a strong personal brand and throughout the day, we looked at our personal philosophy, values, strengths and beliefs.
One topic which gave us all food for thought was how great leaders inspire us. Instead of explaining what, how and why you do what you do, we were asked to reverse the order and start with:
1. Why do you do what you do?
2. How do you do it?
3. What do you do?
Take Apple as an example:
The Why?
“Everything we do, we believe challenges the StatusQuo, we believe in thinking differently”
The How?
“By making our products beautifully designed, simple to use and user friendly”
The What?
“We just happen to make great computers….want to buy one?”

At the end of the workshop, we were all asked to feedback on what makes HMA dynamic and a lot of common themes came through such as ‘positivity’, ‘challenge’, ‘forward thinking’ and ‘hardworking’. Every one of us came out of the workshop feeling motivated and proud to be part of such a hardworking team.
Here’s a selection of tweets from throughout the day.
