A new year, a new challenge! This March some of team HMA are heading to Malta to take part in the GiG Malta Half Marathon, to raise awareness and much needed funds for teenage mental health charity stem4.
HMA has been stem4’s design and tech partner for nearly three years and in that time, we have witnessed first-hand the incredible work that this teenage mental health charity delivers. Based in Wimbledon, the charity was formed by consultant clinical psychologist Dr Nihara Krause, who along with her stem4 team promotes positive mental health in teenagers and those who support them. This includes their families and carers, education professionals, as well as school nurses and GPs through the provision of mental health education, resilience strategies and early intervention.
The digital portfolio that HMA has helped stem4 create has a combined reach of over 1.1million people worldwide and includes:
- Calm Harm – a free app to help teenagers resist or manage the urge to self-harm
- Clear Fear – a free app to help children and young people manage the symptoms of anxiety
- Combined Minds – a free app that provides practical strategies for families and friends on supporting teenage mental health
So, on the 1st March 2020, Nicola, Emma, Steve, Jack, Jonny, Rachel, Chris and Guy will head to the beautiful island of Malta to run 13.1 miles! Training is now well and truly in full swing after some overindulgence during the Christmas break, and we are all working hard even though winter isn’t the nicest time of year to train for a half marathon! Our team includes fitness enthusiasts to those that have never run a race in their life, but each one of us knows how much this means to stem4, so we can’t wait to get out there.
If you’d like to find out more about the half marathon or stem4, or if you could help support us to reach our £2000 target, we’d be incredibly grateful! All information can be found here: https://stem4.charitycheckout.co.uk/pf/hma
