August 2017 marked an amazing 20 years’ service for HMA Director Steve Pickup.
After graduating with a 1st class honours degree in Product Design at the University of Central Lancashire in 1997, Steve joined the HMA team as a junior designer delivering 3D design, animation, visualisation and motion graphics to its new and established client base.
Over the years, Steve has delivered some stunning visual representations of products, buildings and processes for clients such as Sheffield United, ZND and Boehringer Ingelheim – you can view a selection of his more recent work on our Showreel.
To this day, Steve continues to produce the highest quality visualisations for HMA’s clients, enhancing their digital presence and marketing activity and complementing the output of the rest of our team. And while he still enjoys a hands on role, his responsibilities have increased over the years. Now a Director of HMA and one of the three-strong management team that embarked on a management buyout in 2016, Steve is a shining example of how hard work and loyalty can pay dividends.
To mark this occasion, the HMA team surprised Steve with a celebratory evening out – after watching a compilation of video messages from former colleagues and family all wishing him well and congratulating him on this achievement.
Steve’s ‘original since 1997’ t-shirt and number ‘20’ shaped balloons also led to a few free drinks on the night as the barman thought he was celebrating his 20th birthday – a nod to Steve’s youthful looks!
